If you count the nearly five years they dated, Anita Meaders has been with her husband David for 30 years. She was Anita Warwick when they married on July 28th, 1978, and already had clay in her blood from her Warwick ancestors who were some of the pioneer potters in White County. Her great grandfather, William Asberry Warwick was making pottery in White County as early as 1840.
Anita started making pottery about a year after she and David married, and quickly showed an amazing talent. Her distinctive grape and flower decorations on pitchers, candleholders and other pottery are highly prized and sought after by collectors across the country.
Anita works alongside David in their Hall county shop and often applies her decorations to David’s pieces as well are to her own. |
